APR's S3 K04 Turbo Conversion is now available for the 2005.5-2006 B7 model generation Audi A4 2.0T FSI. APR has developed an excellent entry level turbocharger upgrade for the 2.0T FSI engine by incorporating the OEM turbocharger assembly from the Audi S3 and coupling it with APR’s FSI Fueling Technology and expertly recalibrated engine management upgrade. APR's Engineering Team has developed a powerful and reliable turbocharger upgrade that maintains OEM engine bay appearance and offers up to 118 hp and 131 lb ft of torque over the OEM power output of the 2.0T FSI.

APR's engineers have expertly recalibrated the engine management system to allow for nearly flat torque delivery from 3000 RPM to 5500 RPM which results in a smooth linear pull throughout the power band. The Borg Warner K04 turbocharger selected by VAG engineers is perfectly sized for the 2.0 liters of displacement to allow for stout horsepower numbers as the RPMs increase with no dramatic fall off as redline approaches. This ensures plenty of power in the high RPMs for continued acceleration in the straights and positioning at the healthiest portion of the power band after corner exit.

Front mount intercooler kit for the Audi B7 A4 2.0T FSI engine. Featuring an efficient Garrett GT 400HP intercooler core with ATP contoured cast end tanks. 2.5" mandrel bent and lightweight charge pipes joined with multi-layer turbo grade silicone connectors.
This strategically placed FMIC gets plenty of airflow to make use of the high density bar and plate Garrett GT core and replaces the two inefficient side mounted stock units that get poor airflow from the smaller ducts.

Performance gains come from a consistent 20-30 degree drop in peak temperature resulting in less knock and more HP and reliability due to the cooler charge. The new GT core also regains a lot of the pressure drop inherent in both factory intercoolers so boost response is better and the turbo works less and makes more power. In addition to the power gains, you can expect a smoother powerband, less hesitation due to heatsoak and the an engine that will be much happier even with “spirited” driving occasions.
As a side note: This FMIC upgrade is a welcomed compliment to our GT28RS/GT3071R upgraded turbo kit for the B7 2.0T Audi A4. The turbo kit will provide supplementary piping that will connect right up to the piping in this FMIC so you don’t have to buy anything twice. APR's A4 Exhaust is a complete stainless steel, mandrel bent, cat-back exhaust. On an A4, the catalytic converter is bolted to the turbocharger and then the exhaust begins with the downpipe. Unlike most other aftermarket exhausts, the APR exhaust includes a 2.5" downpipe. The exhaust then continues back to the innovative center muffler, where it splits into dual 2.25" pipes. Each of these mandrel bent pipes goes to its own muffler with a 3.5" rolled, round tip. Customers may also purchase a Testpipe which remove the OEM catalytic converter.

A low pressure fuel pump, which varies from ~40-95psi, delivers fuel from the gas tank to the high pressure fuel pump. Then the high pressure, camshaft driven pump pressurizes the fuel to upwards of 130bar (almost 1900psi!) in order to spray fuel directly into the combustion chamber. Unfortunately on cars that have many modifications, the stock fuel pump cannot flow enough volume of fuel to maintain the system pressure and the car suffers from the familiar "fuel cut" that so many modified customers experience.

The limitation of how much volume of fuel the high pressure pump can flow is dependent upon the volume displaced by the pressurizing cylinder inside the pump and the number of times the piston reciprocates inside that cylinder. Since the high pressure pump is driven off of the engine camshaft by a three lobe cam the piston of the pump cycles at 1.5 times the engine rpm. (Engine camshaft turns at one-half engine rpm multiplied by three for the number of lobes on the high pressure cam lobe).
APR FSI pumps have been track tested since 2006 with several hundreds of thousands of miles of combined usage. Each APR pump starts out as a brand new OEM pump and is then modified with the new components by APR and undergoes a rigorous testing process on our high pressure fuel pump tester. Once a pump passes our standards it is serialized and shipped to the customer.
