The Porsche 987's Boxster and Cayman platform is a great all around car for the street or track. Its mid engine provides great weight distribution for a well balanced vehicle. Vivid Racing's Stage 1 kit is designed to improve the vehicles power band from increased torque to stronger pull on the top end RPM range. In addition, you will notice quicker throttle response from the improved air flow and ECU changes.

Our Stage 1 kit consists of the Softronic ECU Flash inconjunction with their popular Softronic Racing Plenum. The plenum uses a larger throttle body to direct more air into the normal aspirated engine. With the specific tune that Softronic does for this plenum, you will gain a real and proven 25 wheel horsepower. With a 15% drivetrain loss, that takes your Cayman's power level up substantially. The Softronic Racing Plenum uses factory Porsche parts to guarantee you an OEM look, fit, and finish with no troubles or false claims. The Softronic ECU Flash is done via the OBDII port with the provided Durametric cable. The Durametric cable also allows you to clear trouble codes, data log your vehicle, and more, see www.durametric.com for more info. The process to do the ECU flash is about 30 minutes to download your existing file and then 30 minutes to upload the new Tuned file. The Softronic ECU Flash will alter your fuel and timing maps to provide you a overall improved driving characteristics. With Softronic, you can always reload your stock file if need be.

With the use of the Softronic Racing Plenum and custom tuned ECU flash to gain 25 wheel horsepower as seen in Stage 1, we up the power of this Stage 2 kit using the Agency Power exhaust system and K&N high flow intake filter. The Softronic ECU flash is designed to take advantage of the increased air flow as provided with the larger throttle body and plenum installed. Once you have increased the intake airflow, you need to free up the exhaust system with the proper amount of back pressure retained.

The Agency Power exhaust system is all T304 stainless steel designed to eliminate your secondary catalytic converters and save alot of weight reduced off the rear end. The APR 987 S ECU Upgrade comes EMCS equipped (Enhanced Modular Chipping System). The "Extra steps" don't stop with the software development process. Our ECU Upgrade development far surpasses anything else offered by any tuner in any market anywhere in the world. We have left the traditional method of re-flashing a chip in the 90's and have moved on to the next generation of ECU Upgrade tuning. No longer are you limited to replacing one program with another program. With the EMCS, you can replace one program with four programs and several ECU features.
Softronic flashes the 987.2 Cayman through the OBDII port of the car. With their Flasher Client software, they are reading a full 1mb of the file to completely tune the ECU. Other companies claim to be able to do this, but are only read 128kb and making global changes. The ECU flash will alter your fuel and timing maps to give you a very linear increase over stock. For those worried about check engine lights, there are none! For those running a high flow cat or straight pipe exhaust systems, Softronic raises the O2 levels which will remove the possibility of having a CEL from this type of exhaust. Once the car is flashed, the low end torque and throttle response will be much improved. The mid-range of the RPM band will feel stronger as well.
The overall improvement of drivability makes the 997.2 Carrera even more fun then it was originally. Since warranty is always a concern, Softronic also provides you with your original file. With this original file you can flash your car back to stock at any point. If you go to the dealer, there will be nothing visible through the Porsche PIWIS system. Softronic can program your vehicle no matter what country you are from or what octane you use. We have different maps for those running 91 octane or 93 octane and higher.

Softronic is very popular amongst the Porsche Cayman community. Their ability to do custom tuning on the 987 chassis has led them to continually out perform the competition. Like the other normally aspirated 911’s, Softronic focuses on improving the overall power curve of the car. Improving driveability, throttle response, torque, and midrange power. Softronic is able to gain 20 horsepower to the crank and 17ft/lbs of torque. Softronic flashes the 987 Cayman cars through the OBDII port of the car.
