Hahn has studied and boosted this engine series for years and have now developed this easy-to-install system. It enables you to build BIG power with the LE5, but without having to even remove the engine from the chassis! It's a one-two-three punch addressing three key areas (valve springs, compression ratio, and head studs) with one installation procedure, transforming your LE5 2.4 into the same powerful configuration as used in Hahn's World's Quickest Street Solstice!
Dual Valve Springs and Titanium Retainers: Boost levels above 15 PSI can cause valve float at high RPM, as the soft stock valve springs struggle to close the valves against port pressures. This drop-in (no machining required) spring and retainer system keeps valve action crisp at higher boost, eliminating power losses.
Multi-Layer Head Gasket: Reducing the engine's compression ratio eliminates the tendency of spark knock at higher boost levels. This gasket will drop the ratio from 10.6:1 to a boost-friendly 9.1:1, enabling you to run as much as 18-20 PSI of boost on 93 octane pump fuel!
Heavy-Duty Head Studs: It would be a crime to remove your cylinder head and not upgrade the stock head bolts. This drop-in high-quality stud system includes hi-tensile studs, nuts, and washers to keep the head firmly clamped down at 400-plus HP.
Manual Cam Chain Tensioner: The stock automatic tensioner is great for stock engines, but fast-revving, high-boosted engines need a more consistent cam drive. This tensioner replaces the stock unit and stabilizes chain tension under aggressive conditions.
Cam Drive Components: Elevating the cylinder head with a thicker gasket will not affect attaching components such as hoses and wiring. It does, however, affect cam drive geometry with the LE5's sensitive VVT system. We include the parts needed to restore correct cam timing and drive system operation.
